Nokia 5230 is a great budget smartphone with great screen,nice video playback and good battery.I bought it on april 2010 and loved it very much.Having such a phone i thought of sharing it with other nokia and nokia 5230 owners my experience on nokia 5230.

Even with ovi store finding an app for reading eBooks was not easy.The famous mobiclip as of now hasn’t released any new version and i couldn’t find any alternative other than ZXreader.But it didn’t support images within pages and also formatting was not good.So i found a worthy alternative Google Docs.The viewer works exactly the same way as in the desktop version and also no format changing is required(no editing).

I have tried several pdf documents and it showed no problems.It was as if we read on adobe acrobat reader.The only thing that bothered me was that the reader could be used only in landscape mode and also the viewing space could have been increased.A

full screen mode would have been much appreciated.

Another alternative is Zoho which can read doc files but i could only open doc files.please inform me if i am wrong.

Nokia 5230 Firmware Update Available(21.0.004)

Nokia 5230 has once again got a software update.This time with more stability improvements.I updated as an OTA update.

The update comes after an update to N97 and a simaltaneous update to X6.

Here is the changelog to X6

Nokia 5230 firmware Update 20.0.005 released

Nokia’s new value for money smartphone has updated it’s firmware to 20.0.005.Nokia 5230 with 3g,gps,3.2” resistive touch screen,30fps video playback and capture is a great phone to have.The only let down is it,s 2MPcamera without flash.

Opera 10.5 Future Of The Web

 

 

Opera 10.5 with z1_glass v1.52 theme

Opera webbrowser always tries to stand out from the rest.The new opera 10.5 does just that.With a totaly redesigned carakan javascript engine it beats all the webkit based browsers aka safari and chrome.The new graphics library vega does a wonderful job making the browser pretty when hasn’t opera been pretty.As for speed i found opera on par with chrome if not more.Its a shame that opera is not the number one browser even though now it is the fastest.

Apart from above said changes m ore obvious changes include

• Ribbon user interface

   

 

• Better windows 7 integration which includes jump list integration

• Private browsing for each tab yes you heard right

 

 

As it is a beta release we can expect further changes.One thing i would like to see is the opening of a link in a new tab should be near the parent tab as in google chrome.

Install turbo c in windows 7

Turbo c is a widely used compiler academically.As windows 7 and vista doesn’t run dos applications we need an emulator.For this lets use dosbox you can download the latest version from www.dosbox.com.The next step is little tricky copy the tc folder from c drive on any of your friends computer in which turbo c is installed(so the friend must have windows xp) to c:\dos.

Now run dosbox and enter

                 mount c: C:\dos

                 c:

                 cd tc\bin

                  tc

 

 

 

Note you need to enter this every time to run turbo c.I will update this post to inform you about an easier method.
